Tidal Eclipse
Tidal Eclipse deepens the exploration of kinetic spatial relationships and chromatic transformation within the Shifting Reality collection. Grounded in clean geometric tension, the piece juxtaposes a sweeping diagonal swath with a suspended circular form, creating an architectural balance of weight and orbital float.
The sculpted, tactile elements are hand-built with high-relief striations that transform dynamically across space. Layered with directional tones of rich violet and deep teal, the textured surfaces shift in response to the viewer's movement: one perspective draws out cool aquatic cyan depths, while an alternate angle ignites the composition into saturated royal amethyst.
To further heighten the relief, a deliberate combination of matte and gloss varnish is applied across the ridges. This dual finish captures light unevenly across the crests and troughs, lending a shimmering, organic luminescence that stands out against the calm, smooth silvery-grey background.
