Concentric Shift

An anchor piece from the Shifting Reality collection, Concentric Shift explores how a single change in perspective can transform what we see. Anchored against a calm, expansive slate-blue ground, a heavily sculpted circular relief commands the center of the canvas. Deep concentric ridges and raw, orbiting fragments create the sensation of a ripple or celestial aperture suspended in motion.

Eliminating the distance between artist and canvas through raw, dimensional sculpting, this piece refuses to remain static. Created with color-shifting teechnique and a deliberate interplay of matte and gloss varnishes, the central form transitions between deep, shadowy navy and warm, oxidized maroon as you move through the room. While the matte finish of the blue background emphasizes, the high-gloss texture allowing it to catch the light along the raised ridges.. Housed in an antique-style, off-white wooden frame, the artwork balances raw tactile energy with timeless energy.
